About These Terms
These Terms of Storage provide a general overview of the conditions that apply when using Perth Self Store.
Your individual storage agreement, booking confirmation and any applicable site rules may contain additional terms specific to your storage arrangement.
You should read all documentation provided to you carefully before using your storage space.

Your Storage Agreement
Your storage agreement will set out the main details of your booking.
This may include:
- Your Storage Space
- The Start Date
- The Charges Payable
- Payment Arrangements
- Access Conditions
- Notice Requirements
- Any Other Terms Specific to Your Booking
If anything in your agreement is unclear, contact Perth Self Store before accepting it.
Using Your Storage Space
Your storage space must be used responsibly and only for lawful storage purposes.
You must not use the space in a way that could cause danger, damage, nuisance or unreasonable disruption to Perth Self Store, other customers or neighbouring property.
Storage spaces must not be used as residential accommodation, sleeping areas or living spaces.
You are responsible for making sure that the goods you place into storage are suitable for the storage space you have chosen.
Items You Must Not Store
Some items may be prohibited because they are illegal, dangerous, hazardous, perishable or unsuitable for storage.
These may include:
- Illegal or Stolen Goods
- Explosives
- Flammable Materials
- Hazardous or Toxic Substances
- Perishable Goods
- Waste Materials
- Items That Could Cause Contamination
- Anything That Could Create a Risk to People or Property
This list is not exhaustive.

Your Responsibility for Stored Goods
You remain responsible for the belongings you place into storage.
You should make sure that items are packed, protected and arranged appropriately for storage.
This includes:
- Using Suitable Boxes and Containers
- Protecting Fragile Items
- Preparing Furniture and Appliances Properly
- Avoiding Unstable Stacking
- Making Sure Stored Items Do Not Create a Hazard
Perth Self Store is not responsible for packing your belongings unless this has been specifically agreed as part of another service.
Access to Your Storage
Access to your storage space will be subject to the arrangements that apply to your booking and the facility.
You must follow any reasonable site instructions when visiting Perth Self Store.
You must not interfere with other customers’ storage spaces, equipment, restricted areas or other parts of the site that you are not authorised to access.
Access may occasionally need to be limited where reasonably necessary for maintenance, safety, emergencies or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Security
You are responsible for following the security arrangements that apply to your storage space.
Where you are responsible for securing your own unit, you should make sure it is properly secured whenever you leave.
Do not share keys, access codes or other security information unless you are satisfied that the person concerned is authorised to access your belongings.
If you believe your access details have been lost or compromised, contact Perth Self Store as soon as possible.
Storage Charges
The charges applying to your storage will be confirmed when you make your booking or enter into your storage agreement.
You are responsible for making payments by the dates specified in that agreement.
Any additional charges that may apply should also be identified within your booking or storage documentation.
If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact Perth Self Store so that it can be reviewed.
Late or Missed Payments
If you are unable to make a payment when it is due, contact Perth Self Store as soon as possible.
The consequences of overdue payments will be governed by your individual storage agreement.
Depending on those terms, late or missed payments may affect your continued use of the storage space or access to it.
Any action taken in relation to unpaid charges will be subject to the agreement and applicable law.
Insurance
You are responsible for understanding what insurance or other protection applies to the goods you place into storage.
Any insurance requirements that form part of your booking should be set out within your storage agreement.
Do not assume that your belongings are automatically insured simply because they are stored at Perth Self Store.
You should make sure that any cover you rely on is appropriate for the type and value of the goods being stored.
Keep Your Contact Details Up to Date
You should tell Perth Self Store if your contact details change during your storage period.
This may include your:
- Postal Address
- Email Address
- Telephone Number
- Other Contact Information Relevant to Your Agreement
Keeping these details current allows us to contact you about payments, your storage space or important information affecting your booking.
Damage and Site Care
You must take reasonable care while using the storage facility.
Customers must not deliberately or negligently damage storage units, buildings, doors, equipment or other property belonging to Perth Self Store or another person.
Please report any damage, maintenance issue or unsafe condition that you notice.
You must not alter, repair or modify your storage space without permission from Perth Self Store.
Liability
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict any responsibility that Perth Self Store cannot legally exclude.
Customers remain responsible for taking reasonable care of their own belongings and preparing them appropriately for storage.
Any specific provisions relating to loss, damage or liability should be set out in your individual storage agreement.
Your statutory rights are not affected.
Ending Your Storage Agreement
If you want to end your storage arrangement, you must follow the notice or cancellation procedure contained within your agreement.
Before the agreement ends, you should:
- Remove All of Your Belongings
- Check the Storage Space Carefully
- Remove Any Waste or Packaging
- Return Anything Required Under Your Agreement
- Make Sure Any Outstanding Payments Have Been Dealt With
Removing your belongings does not necessarily end your contract automatically.
If you are unsure about your notice period or end date, contact Perth Self Store.
Items Left Behind
You are responsible for removing all of your belongings when your storage agreement ends.
Any goods left behind will be dealt with in accordance with your storage agreement and applicable law.
If you are unable to clear your storage space by the agreed date, contact Perth Self Store before your agreement ends.
Changes to Your Storage Arrangements
From time to time, changes may be required for operational, safety, legal or other legitimate reasons.
If a change materially affects your storage agreement, Perth Self Store will deal with it in accordance with that agreement and applicable law.
Any important changes will be communicated where required.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of your storage service, please contact Perth Self Store.
We would normally prefer the opportunity to understand the issue and try to resolve it directly.
When making a complaint, please provide enough information for us to identify your booking and understand the problem.
Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or reduce any rights that you have under applicable UK consumer law.
If you are using Perth Self Store mainly for personal rather than business purposes, you may have additional consumer protections.
Where your individual agreement contains contractual terms, those terms must also comply with applicable law.
